    howdy.
    i want to create a dvd that when it goes into the dvd player it plays 1 of 3 clips at random before moving on to the main menu. Does anyone know of a method/software for achieving this??

    No . I haven't tried it Big time $$$ authoring needed for this kind of tinkering unless of course you know your way around IFOEdit.

    Try the beta version of DVD Lab Pro. You may find that some of the bugs prvent you from getting it finished, but it will allow you to access the things you need to do this. Use the forums there to get assistance on the finer points.

    My main intrest right now is the best DV to MPEG2 conversions I can achieve so as to archive my Hi8 for future generations.

    Out of intrest however, I occasionally 'reverse engineer' DVD's just to see how they 'tick'. I have the jump and link commands figured out (self explanitory really) the rest will take some time.

    well you're way ahead of me. i checked out the link and after a few minutes of searching i've worked out i understand about 6 words on the site.
