  1. Hello, im new at making DVDs, i use TMPGEnc to convert it to DVD and then i use TMPGEnc DVD author + burner to burn the DVD, eveything works fine ecept when i want to put a full movie on a DVD there is not enough space. I read other threads where they say there are different MODEs of burning just like SP, LP on VHS but i dont know how to do that... the minimum bitrate using TMPGEnc is 2000 and thats still too much for one DVD. Even as everything set to the lowest quality in TMPGEnc a 1:40 movie is too larg for one DVD... how do i fix this?

(should i convert it anyways and there is a way to fix it later, or do i have to do something with TMPGEnc?)

    thank you.

(i know there is another thread asking hte exact samething and i read the whole thing but didnt undrestand a thing... if possible could you please try to explain it as simply as posible, thanx )

have you checked so the actual runtime after you converted is 1.40 ??? tmpgenc may sometime get the time incorrect because of mp3 vbr audio, then convert the audio to uncompressed wav and use it as source in tmpgenc.

  4. its avi

[EDIT] oh... no i never actually converted because tmpgec said it wouldn't fit on a dvd...

but the movie is 1hr and 40min.

Tmpgenc MUST get the runtime incorrect, 1.40 SHOULD fit.

If TMPGEnc says that the video time / runtime is way too long
TMPGEnc keeps encoding after the end of video with only a black screen
Try change the directshow reader priority, in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 2 or to the top of the plugin-list and reopen the video.
If that doesn't help try convert the audio to WAV audio before converting and use the wav as audio source.
And if all that didn't help you can always use the source range to select exact what to encode, under Settings->Advanced in TMPGEnc.
