  1. What are these exactly, and how is the quality comapred to regular vcds? Also does anyone know if they will work on a vcd complient sega saturn? thanks

    CVD's are a lot like SVCD's, only the resolution is 352x480 and the audio is 48000hz. I doubt they will play on your Saturn because VCD is mpeg-1, CVD is mpeg-2. Though KVCD is mpeg-1, I tend to doubt those will work for you either because they are in essence non-standard VCD's. It's worth a shot to try I suppose.

  3. No, CVD audio is NOT 48 K, it is the same as SVCD. Many use 48 k so as to have a DVD-compliant video, but this is out of spec.

    CVD is actually the original Chinese spec for Super Video CD, and at least in china, has been included into the SVCD spec.
