  2. Look for VCDEasy 1.1.5.2, its the last freeware verion, it doesnt make menus, but is very reliable and compatible.

  4. I wouldnt know, i just know 1.1.5.2 is free, and 2.01 is new and probably much better in many ways. Also 1.1.5.2 will allow you to add chapters/PBC, it got what you need except menus

  7. I dont have Nero and no plans of trying it again, had enough during the years. You didnt understand my post, i said 1.1.5.2 is FREE, it can work on files biger than 200MB, no limits.

  8. Regarding safelock, you are allowed to play it back using Daemon tools after creating an image with for ex CloneCD. To make a working backup you would need to use for ex CloneCD or Blindwrite (its free, alcohol is not) and you need a CD-writer supporting this kind of protection. I have an AOpen CRW5232, and i made it work with Safedisk2 backups, but many writers will interpret the protection as bad data and replace it with zero-bytes, and it will then not be playable. Remember this is for backups only, and it might not be legal in your country.

You can create a virtual drive with Nero but it doesn't break any encryption schemes when making images. I would install Alcohol 120% for that. I also stated in one of your other threads that both programs have been on my system for quite some time with no problems.

    Patcher,

If you don't demand full control of your encode, download and try DVDx 2.2, try that. It WILL make a very good VCD, SVCD, and you can set the bitrate to whatever it takes to fill the number of disks it requires. I mean, you don't get a 700 MB disk and a 300 MB disk, you can choose to fill 2 disks, raise the bitrate to do it.

You don't like it, uninstall. The program is free.

    Cheers,

    George

ps: I haven't used it for many months, as I burn DVD, now, but it was an excdellent program. Some purists might disagree, but so be it.

  11. Am not a purist but i cant recommend DVDx, its not good, and it gave a quite extraordinary horrible result on interlaced material. Anyway, i dont think patcher is looking for encoding options, seems like he got enough trouble getting it burned

    Thor,

Please quote the sentence where he says he can't burn a disk. Looks like he is asking if he can put 2 burning apps on the computer at the same time, but still, he has an app that allows him to encode 15 minutes or so, VCDEasy, 200 meg limit.

I said, and still think, DVDx is an excellent program, if you do not wish to be in total control. I have re-encoded 3 hour DVDs to VCD, SVCD, X of both, and you wouild be hard pressed to tell the diff from a DVD. I don't know if it will work with an avi, as I never tried, but he is asking about Safedisk or whatever, and don't think he is trying to make his disks unrippable.

Anyhow, try it, you just might like it.

    Cheers,

    George
