Burning Mp3s and Wavs

I know the difference between MMp3s and Wavs, but whhat I want to know is does it make a difference what format they are (mp3 or Wav) when they are burnt to make an audio cd. Will one last longer than the othher as an audio cd or, once they are converted, are they completely the same as far as longevity is concerned?

the file doesn't matter. What matters is the disc they are burned to and how well you take care of it.

If given the choice, I would choose wav over mp3 to author a cd. This wouldn't apply to an mp3 that was converted to wav though. Let's say you're using Nero to make an audio CD with mp3's as your source, they're decompressed on-the-fly to wav. You only benefit from using wav if it was the original format, not merely decompressed from a compressed source like mp3, ogg etc.

With MP3, more data is stored in a smaller space on the disc. The same scratch, that could make an audio CD hiccup, could wipe out a whole MP3 file.

WAV is safer.

That's a sensible answer, and I agree. Clearly I misunderstood the question(I think).
