  2. Me too.

I use Power DVD 4. Power DVD 5 seems to have bugs on some mpeg-2 files (artifact apprears like a damaged mpeg file).

I use an older version of PowerDVD, version 4, I think. I have a newer version, but it just wants to play DVDs while the older one is more universal, simpler and will play most any MPEG file.

PowerDVD, but there's certainly room for improvement/flexibility vis a vis Zoom Player.

  12. PowerDVD 5 for DVD's.

I switched from WinDVD after having constant trouble with various discs not playing correctly (mainly garbled/scrambled audio). I have not tried the latest version, though.

    PowerDVD 6 is now out.

This includes support for DVD Audio for those with Audigy 2 series of sound cards.

    Use both.
I have PowerDVD XP - I use this more often because it loads faster than WinDVD, however it has a 4gb limit on opening files - crashes on files > 4gb so to play these I switch to WinDVD which has no file size limit.

I had the same problem and found PDVD 4 to be rock solid.
I tried WinDVD 4 and found it to be unstable and harder to navigate.
