first i have the video feed sorted
and will have the optical cable from the states in about a week
im using an nvidia geforce 4 5600 and will be using a soundcard with an optical out to feed sound to my dav 500 which will be used as an amplifer - i hope
question 1
the tv is 15 meters away
the video feed looks good svid to scart
will the audio be affected my the lenght of the cable
question 2
i assume i can use the dav system as an amplifer,a lot of the movies i have are in xvid and have mp3 audio so powerdvd would be doing the processing and the dav system outputting the sound
as i have the full version it can also process dts and standard 5.1
the main prob is that the txt on the tv screen is not legible
so i need some sort of a menu system that i can have full screen (a bit like a dvd menu) that i can pick the movie i want to watch, from
the menu needs to be able to be updated easily to add and remove links to movies- is it possible to have font size for the menu app different to the rest of the comp fonts
- this will not be a dedicated comp for doing this so when i need to i will be switching back to my moniter to do normal operation - the menu system above would solve me needing to change font sises and so on
--if any have set up a system either dedicated or otherwise - your input would be appreciated
im going to use tvtool to set up tv out
one of the main reasons for doing this is the easy distruction of dvdr discs
if u look crooked at then u get skips especially by the kids
i use riteck amoung others
any and all comments appreciated
-ps - kinda surprised this isnt a dedicated part of the forum(maybe i missed it)
it seems this would be the way to go especially with the divx standalones not able to implement the new features of xvid
the hardware soloution looks like it would always be behind a computer and software one
