  1. Hi,

after testing WINVCR, POWERVCR and a lot of other VCR-programs for my analog capture card, I finally found a great software called TIVION. This is a multimedia center for viewing TV, recording and scheduling from TV. It also uses EPG.
Its great! And its FREEWARE !!!!

    Try it:

There is a german and an english version for download.

    Have fun,

    Glongo

Are you sure it's freeware? The site is password protected. Choosing the english version points to a login screen in German (I think) which I do not understand.

  7. Lordsmurf,

Do you know what going on with TVTV? When I push the TV listings on my MMC now I get a box asking me to enter registration info for TVTV listings. It gives no help in how to sign up.

I can still bring up Guide Plus by clicking on it's desktop icon. In truth I'm not happy with Guide Plus and would like to get a different listing service. There is no way to tell Guide Plus to record all episodes of a show, for instance (like you can with Beyond TV).

ATI truly baffles me. How could they reprogram the button that has always brought up Guide Plus but then not tell us anything about TVTV? I even searched their site. There is one small mention of it and it seems to be directed at European customers.

    Okay ... 1ST review ... TIVION = CRAP

Why? Easy. Not everybody was a lemming and jumped to WinXP.
WinXP-only software is useless to a majority.

I'll have to give it one last chance on the XP machine when I get time.

Interesting, does it break or has the programmer stuck an OS filter in it?

  11. Okay, I tried it out on my "lemming" XP machine, and in the five minutes I let the thing run here's my conclusion -

    Tivion = crap

Tried to connect to Google(?) on startup, denied, and started screaming at me until I killed it.

Started it up again, let it connect this time, and tried to get me to install all kinds of crazy crap - most of which I already had. My experience was brief, to say the least, but... damn

Maybe a more indepth study would reveal something useful in this wacky bloatware, but just get VirtualVCR and start recording already.
