Is it possible to connect my capture card to my sound card without having to use "Line-In"? I have an ATI Wonder VE and I feel that the "Line-In" is causing hissy audio in my captures.
Thanks for the replies.

If your capture card has an auxillary out internally (like a CD audio jack) then you can connect that to your sound card, but that's not causing the hissing, it's a feature of capture. Save the audio to a wav using vdub, open in cool edit, select a bit with just the tape hiss and go to noise reduction and get profile from selection, exit (without applying), select the entire wav and noise reduce (with a setting around 50%). Save the wav and add back in with vdub, then framserve to your encoder.

Before doing all that, you might try plugging into your mic jack instead of line in, just to check.
