I'm trying to back up the main movie on a two-sided DVD and I'm having some difficulty. Most of the movie -- the first two hours -- is on side A. The last 1/3 of the movie is on side B. I'm trying to split the movie evenly across 2 DVDR's to keep the transcoding/recoding (compression) about even.
The first half of the movie was no sweat. I split the 6th vob of the titleset (VTS_01_6.VOB) on side A into cells with VobEdit, discarded the cells I didn't need, stitched 'em back up with VobEdit and generated a new IFO with IfoEdit. I've yet to transcode, but the first backup is pretty much done.
The second half of the movie is not working out quite right though. I've done every variation of the VobEdit/IfoEdit stuff I can think of, but I'm still not happy with the product. It seems to be playing OK on the ol' computer, but I'm reluctant to burn the backup to disc. The VTS overview of PGC_1 is strange in regard to the VOB/CELL ID's. An example of the latest is below.
Any ideas on how to stitch the cells and vob's together without the discontinuity in VOB/CELL ID's? Can CELL ID's be changed in VobEdit?
PGC_1 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 1] [01:51:13.19 / 30 fps] (Programs: 28) (Cells: 28) (uses VOB-IDs: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9)
