I've been struggling to get Pinnacle Studio 9 to convert my 4th DV-AVI tape (of 5) into DVD content. The first 3 worked just fine, with the VIDEO_TS content readily available for burning (see below for what I do to it). On this 4th AVI file (1 hour/13GB), it seems to do EVERYTHING as usual but, just as it is finishing, Studio closes in the blink of an eye (all on its own) and the auxiliary files appear to be present, but the VIDEO_TS folder only has one vob in it and nothing else. Is anyone else experiencing this bug?
BTW, the reason I'm using Studio 9 instead of TMPGEnc to convert the video from AVI to MPEG then VOBs is b/c Studio will automatically create the 60+ chapters from the autodetected scenes. [Otherwise, I could use TMPGenc to make DVD compliant MPEG2's, but then I'd have to manually find each chapter point.] I typically take the finished Studio 9 generated DVD content (VIDEO_TS foler), bring it into TMPG DVD Author and import it with the chapters intact, then I create a NICE menu for it and convert the audio to AC-3 and redump the files for burning.
