  1. Hello i am still kinda new at this... i was wondering what program can i use to convert my avi to a mpeg file but not totally destroy the quality of the movie.. is this posible?

    TMPGEnc, Cinemacraft (CCE) and Mainconcept are three popular ones around here.

    Go to the guides section for instructions. The quality will depend on the bitrate of the source and the final bitrate you use when converting.

    Yeah, you need to learn how to encode. Don't be afraid of experimenting. MPEG2 works (as you can see from this forum). Be patient and read guides first.

    mpeg2 is the format for DVD.
    Sound like you need to try some stuff out, make some mistakes and come back around

  8. My movie is originally 576X240 but when I tried to load it into TMPEGenc DVD Author is says its not the correct size... wut size should i make it so it still stay clear and crisp? and will look fine on my tv?

    DVD has 3 basic resolutions, 352x240/288 (VCD), 352x480/576 (1/2 DVD) and 720x480/576 (D1). The larger sizes are for PAL. It's all in the "What is DVDR" section.

    Go with the middle one for your file.

  10. When I go to play my movie in the dvd player it looks stretched like everyone is extra tall... how do i keep it widescreen like it was before?

    Be sure to select full screen (keep aspect ratio). Are you following a guide? If not, I suggest you do.

  12. im using MainConcept but And i got it to work in there but when i put it into TMPEnc DVD author is changes it back to full screen
