  1. I want to burn a DVD-RW disc using a Pinnacle 9 movie I captured.. Everytime I try to burn the disc, it ejects my dvd disc and says media is not the correct type??
    I have a TDK Indigo 4x + & - burner. Disc is blank to.
Any ideas why this is happening?? Thanks

  2. Did you get the latest patch? It addressed several DVD burning issues.

Not sure what the problem is. but i know from P8 that it wouldn't even author mpgs over 2.4g - maybe that has something to do with it?

  4. I just downloaded the software from them yesterday. I assume it's as upto date as possible?

  5. It's possible that they released a patch and still had the previous version on the main download. Any way I think you can just go into "about" and then choose update software and it will tell you if you have the latest.

I don't have Studio 9 yet. I'm still using Studio 8. Common wisdom seems to be to edit with Studio and output as avi then author and burn with some other tool.

  6. Makes one wonder why we buy from them if that's the case??? Geesh, you'd think they would be sure their software works before selling it! Rrrrrr

Boy you ARE new. I basically agree with you but just to play the devils advocate; no two computers are alike. There are bound to be problems. Still Pinnacle Studio in my experience is very crash prone. They have been releasing patches constantly for well over a year and it's not stable yet.

  8. I am new, and very frustrated. I never thought making a dvd would be so difficult. It's Unbelieveable. Simple copying to a vhs tape seems like the way to go! lol
And I'm getting my money back. How rediculous to sell dvd software and not be able to burn a dvd with it.

  9. I went through exactly what you are going through now. I was so frustrated.

Here is what I found out over time:

    1) If you need to do a lot of fancy edits and transitions and have complete control over your DVDs you will have to keep learning through trial and error (and this board). Eventually you will find your own formula for success. It will probably involve Pinnacle Studio and several other programs and work arounds.

    2) If you have a lot of videos that you want transfer to DVD with chapter points and a simple menu use Ulead Video Studio or Tmpgenc DVD Author and burn with Nero. These programs are stable. I don't know that I have ever had a crash or lock up with any of them. That doesn't mean there aren't occasional problems but nothing like Pinnacle Studio.
