I downloaded a movie, and it's too large to copy onto 1 cd (I have Adaptec CD Recording Software). How do I copy the movie? I don't mind if it's 2 CD's. I want to play the movie on my DVD player - which is a JVC (av compulink) - (model# xv-523). Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

You need to split it into 2
You don't say if its an AVI or Mpeg, use Vdub and mark at start and middle (at keyframe) and save 1AVI same for 2AVI then use TMPGEnc to make 2 VCD.mpg

It's an AVI ---- I tried using the AVIchop, but I'm having difficulties. Is the TMPG easy to use?
Thanks again for the help! -
yes TMPGEnc is very easy but u have a avi and TMPGEnc can not cut avi u have to encode it to MPeg first if u want to use TMPGEnc

Use Virtual Dub (Vdub)
Load your AVI
Select go to "End" and see how many frames there are, divide that number by 2
EG
800 frames/2= 400
1, Load AVI
2, select go to "Start" Mark as start
3, select go to "400"
4, click the "Key frame" back once, mark as end
5, from menu select video > direct stream copy (Same for sound)
6, Save AVI
Now do the same for the second half, use start 400 (click back one key frame) mark as start...

Whenever I run into this problem, I use TMPGenc to encode the whole AVI to MPG. I then use the MPG tools inside TMPGenc to split the MPG into multiple pieces. Works real well and is fairly quick.

TMPGenc wont work at all if there are problems in the AVI (Freeze frames) or could reach 50% before an error occurs, at leased you get to find out if there are problems when using Vdub, before you spend a lot of time encoding and crashing.
