  1. Hi there, I have 2 quick questions that I need answering if you will please.
I would like to know if and how it is possible to add a slideshow of photo's onto my home movie DVD. I have video of the family holiday and I would like an option on the menu to view a slideshow of the photo's I took. Is it possible? I've seen retail DVD's that sometimes have this feature, but I can't seem to find out any gen on it. Also I would like to know if, ON one of my back-ups, is it possible to put a scan of the cover onto the disc aswell i.e, 3 items when exploring disc.. VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS and example scan.jpg. Would this still work on a DVD player or am I effectively just writing a Data disc?
    Thanx for any help.

  2. Many authoring tools are available that can put together a slideshow for you. Check the Tools section, under DVD author.

As for your second question, yes, you can put a jpg file in the root directory of the DVD. DVD-Video IS a data disc but with specific folders (VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS) that are used by DVD players. There are reports that putting anything extra in the root directory (or even not including the AUDIO_TS folder) may cause problems with some older players but it's very unlikely.

Didn't realise you had a separate section for slideshow tools too. A cunning plan
