I have several files that are encoded with the WMA v2 audio codec. I have WMP 9.0, on a Win2000 box. I have downloaded the proper codecs from microsoft for WMP. I have many DivX and XviD codecs installed on this box and I can play most any file, but I can't seem to find what I need to make audio work with files that are encoded with WMA v2. What do I need? I am assuming that I am missing a codec.
Thanks

i may be just showing my ignorance here (which I have been known to do a time or 2) but when you say WMA v2 are you referring to the new "lossless compression" mode of wma's or wma's that are encoded in surround?

I think you probably know more than I do...
I am not sure, to answer your question. I right-click on the file that has no audio and go to properties, and it shows "Windows Medai Aduio V2" under the audio encoder section. I downloaded AVIcodec, and launched it, and it also showed the same audio codec. It is just calling it "Windows Media V2"
I don't know much more than that. -
perhaps one of these will fix you up?

Also..
Search google! I found that link in a few seconds. You can narrow your search dramatically by putting whatever you are searching for in quotations.
"wma v2"
If you ever get an error or phrase you don't quite understand many times you can figure it out by searching as I have done...
