Ritek G04 Matte; Odd Smell?

Hey guys,

I just got a batch of Matte Ritek G04s and they all smell like burning lightbulbs. They burn and play with no problems. Should I be concerned?

OH MY GOD! Get a Haz-Mat team in there pronto. If you don't get those discs out of your home within the next 48 hours you could be in serious trouble. If inhaled the smell could cause you and your family to develop a serious strain of brain cancer (similar to Mad Cow disease).

Mine smell like plastic

i got some and they smell like a morning a breeze, so a couple from this batch i use as air freshners. They smelled so good I even rubbed one under my arms...

Just finished about 100 of these stinky Riteks with no problem. The smell doesn't go away, either. I have some that I burned months ago and they still wreak.

Fujifilm form best buy smell really bad- like burning chemical plastic- I think last time I was there I bitched about it also.

Thanks for the posts on this. I got some feedback from the people at Rima and they checked with an expert. They said the problem is related to the surface materials in Matte discs and it is of no concern. Problem solved.
