I've been backing up my DVD collection for nearly a year now using DVD Decrypter and Instant Copy 7. I like to keep all of the menus and features together with the movie on my backup copy. I've backed up dozens of DVDs without problem until now.
My latest 2 new DVD backups both exhibit the same problem. When I select PLAY on the main menu, the various copyright warnings play and then the DVD switches to title 2 chapter 1 & displays a black screen for about 5 seconds. (The movie is title 1, not title 2.) It continues on into chapter 2 for another 2 seconds (display is still black) and then jumps back to chapter 1. This process just loops continuously forever. None of the buttons on my remote get me out of this loop. I have to eject the DVD.
If I select SCENE SELECT instead of PLAY on the main menu, and I select the first scene, the movie plays OK. If I jump back to the main menu while the movie is playing and then select PLAY, the movie resumes without any problem. It is only after I initially load the DVD and select PLAY that the problem occurs.
This same behavior occurs with the DVD backups of both of these 2 new movies and occurs in the DVD drives of 2 different computers as well as in a standalone DVD player. I've tried burning DVD+RW as well as DVD+R media.
The last DVD backup that I made just prior to these 2 DVDs works OK. I am puzzled why these 2 backups behave the way they do and I don't know how to correct this behavior. Does anybody have any suggestions, hints pointers, etc...? Thanks.

it may be the way ic7 deals with the menu structure. If you do too much with the menu structure, it will cause the movie not to play properly.
try leaving the menu structure in tact and/or backing movie only.
