  1. Hope this is in the right forum.

Looking to take a 700MB Xvcd and put it on a blank dvd -r so it can play in my stand alone dvd player.
I know there has to be a tutorial on here but I could not find it at all.

    thanks for any help.

Use tmpgenc dvd author. Check for vcd to dvd guides under our author section, it is basicly the same method if your xvcd resolution is within the dvd standard.

And this isn't vcd or svcd authoring so I'm moving you.

  3. Sorry it wasn't in the correct forum.
I downloaded the trial version of TMpgenc DVD author but when I click on the file it says "This is an illegal video file. For DVD standard you can only use MPEG-1 Video or MPEG-2 Video." So, do I need to convert this to mpeg? It is currently a DVDRip.XviD-DMT.
    Any ideas?

Xvid is mpeg-4 video so you need to convert it to mpeg-1 or mpeg-2. If it's good quality you should convert to DVD mpeg-2. You'll need an encoder such as TMPGEnc Plus in order to do so. Make sure you convert the audio to wav first. Open the movie with Virtualdub, go to the audio menu and select "full processing mode", then go to the file menu and save as wav. Use the wav file as your audio source in TMPGEnc.
