    I tried ripping a DVD using Nero Recode mpg4 and was rather pleased with the results and the ease/speed. And the files even played on my Mac running OS10 (Panther).

    My question is whether these files will play on PCs that do not have Nero 6 installed? In othe words is there a DivX codec (or other) that will play Nero Recode Mpg4 files? I don't have another PC without Nero 6 on it to test...

    As long as you install 3ivx they should play fine. In the event you're not able to get sound, install CoreAAC Directshow Filter. Get it here. Nero Digital can also be played in the newer builds of Quicktime too.
