Hey everyone,
Does the Plextor PX-402U allow you to watch the video on your PC monitor at the same time you are capturing it and storing it as an MPEG file?
Thanks in advance
Greg

Yes. It does have a realtime (overlay) preview both small view and full screen view.

The preview is an overlay. It depends on your graphics card. If your graphics card does not support overlay you won't have a preview althought it still captures video and audio. IMO all graphics card have an overlay support nowadays. WinDVD Creator2 can change the overlay (brightness, contras, tint, etc.) for preview and capturing.
WinDVD Creator however does not encode realtime analog video and audio in to MPEG2 or Divx. Convertx is a hardware encoder so all realtime converting is done in the chip. So eventhough you preview in full screen while capturing or even using the computer for something else the MPEG2 and Divx captured are good. For non real time converting, Creator2 can input MPEG1/2/Divx and encode them.
