  1. Well i have a very strange problem and need some advice on it. The problem started when i changed media brand. The reason i did this is because i bought a new dvdr drive to replace my old one and found that i would get LBA errors on Ritek G04. So i bought some of those Brand new Datawrite 8x Grey Top Fuji dye ones. Well they burn perfectly no LBA errors but when i play them in my standalone DVD player they work fine sometimes and othertimes they jump at certain parts of a film. When i play the same disk in my other DVD player the jump in a total different place.
They all come back as clean burns in DVD Info Pro. Can anybody sugets what the issue is here.

Probably the players themselves or a combo of those discs and the players. Look up the players on the left under DVD players.

I've burned a +R and a -R with identical content. Both worked perfectly in my JVC player (which seems to play anything), only one would work in a older sony (skipped like you describe), neither would work in a really cheap model and both worked in yet another cheap model.

Same here... New Samsung plays everything but old Sony and new Honda Van are very, very picky.. I have had best success burning at 2x (even on 4x media) and only use Full D1 resolution and CBR for captured vid at 6k... a few of those seem ok in Van (or less frequent skips).... its a flakey technoogy that hopefully will get better in the coming years.
