  1. I've extracted a ac3 file with virtualdub and want to convert it to a wavfile
but it seemed that the file is damaged. How can I repair the ac3 file and convert it to wave. I already tried using ac3fix, aedtools, px3convert but nothing works? Someone an idea?

  2. try using virtual dub mod, and demux the ac3. Thats how I deal with AC3 files and they have all turned out deadly.

Once you have virtual dub mod you can get to the demux by: going to the streams menu, clicking on streams list, selecting the AC3 stream and then clicking the demux button.

  3. I've tried virtual dub mod and I managed to get a wav file from the ac3 file. The only problem now is that loading in tmpgenc is gives an error.
I'll try to get this fixed. Anyhow your tip worked!!!! thanks...

  4. I use CCE encoder, however i noticed that for AVI files that have AC3 audio that I want to encode I have to use some variant of virtual dub and select under the audio menu, no audio. Select under the video menu direct stream copy, and then go to file->save AVI. This will save the AVI as just video, and seems to resolve problems with audio. Then you can encode the video to M2V. It seems some encoders have problems dealing with AC3 audio........
