I already have the TDK, but it's unopened and I can return it easily. And I wouldn't mind if Maxell is a better brand. But if they are the same quality I will just stick with TDK even though the price per unit is slightly higher. My TDK package does say "made in Taiwan"
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
Todd

They could be the same disc-- both TDK and Maxell have used RICOHJPNR discs in the past, although TDK lately is going to CMC a lot. If you have a spindle of CMC TDK's, the Maxells are a *much* better deal.
Unfortunately, without opening the spindle, I don't know how you tell. You might want to return them and get the Maxell just to be safe. -
either way i say maxell cause you know what the hell your getting.

Get the Maxell for $27 at Office Depot. The deal ends Saturday (tomorrow). Mine are definitely RicohJPN.

Generally speaking, Maxells are good discs. I've never used their DVD+R discs but LRD has reported them to be RICOHJPN. That's a good formula.
The Memorex +R discs I use are RICOH and they do fine. -
