Hi,
I have a buncha music video dvds that I would like to rip into my computer then, cut out the good songs then compile my the best songs and burn them into one dvd. I'm wondering if it's possible to do so, if so, what software would I use? I'm willing to spend $1000 on software.

HAHAHAH I can't give it to you for free, I think I need another gig of memory since I'm doing some serious video editting. =) How bout a big thank you though? THANKS YOU!!!!
(By the way the money is not mine, it's my uncle who is paying me a little to cut his collection into couple dvds instead of hundreds.) -
No, that's how much he's willing to spend to do the job, I only get $100 for couple day work. But I'm a kid and $100 will do me good.

(Hmmm...gas money...)
Anyway, back to your situation. I do not believe you will need a GB of memory to do this. This is fairly lightweight stuff. Now, if you were going to do some serious editing (cutting mpegs, transitions, multiple audio/angles, etc. with some heavy-duty app) then you would need a high-powered setup. Just for ripping some discs, that is a bit much. My 512 MB and I get along fine. -
But I'm ripping and cutting up songs that I like then making a dvd with all the songs I like. That's editting and I thought I needed a lotta ram to store all that video data?

Just a quick followup before you come back claiming I am the biggest liar on the planet because I said you did not need 1 GB of memory and you followed my advice and it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to do what you are trying to do.
I still stand by the RAM issue. However, video editing is extremely CPU intensive so if you are planning to attack this with a 500 MHz PC, don't say I didn't warn you.
Also, the files will be huge so lots of empty hard drive space is very important. And don't forget to defrag your drive periodically.
