    OK, here goes:
I have captured the Indiana-Duke basketball game from the 2002 NCAA tourney to my computer. Settings:
    5.06Mbits/sec
    48Khz audio/160kbits/sec
I cut the file into clips to make a highlight reel. I used UVS to open the 27 segments, including a small title sequence I made. I used a crossfade transition effect 1 sec long between each clip. I saved the file as Mpeg2, variable bitrate (8000Max), 48Khz/160bitrate audio. When the file is rendered, about a 3rd the way through the finished file, the audio lags by about 1/2 - 1 sec. Is this a problem common to UVS7 or is my system causing this trouble? I did finally get the file finished, but had to render audio and video seperate.
    I am running:
    Windows XP Pro
    1.8Ghz Athlon (XP2200+)
512 MB RAM (two 256) of Kingmax RAM
    ATI AIW 8500 (128MB)
Maxtor 80GB hard drive ATA 133
    Gigabyte 7VRX MB (266FSB)
Thanks for any input. I'm thinking maybe simply restarting before I render the ultimate product would help, but am looking for other ideas.

Sorry, won't be offering advice, as I have the same problem (and as you haven't had a reply for a month, nobody seems to have an answer...). You say you rendered audio and video separately to get around it. How do you do that?

    thx
