Its my first time using this forum.
I have an xvid file, that I want to convert to VCD, using TMPGEnec and virtualdub. I want to add subs using virtualdub.
This is my file:
--> {XviD MPEG-4 Codec}, 5 channels stereo.
Audio Format:
Code: 0x2000
Name: WAVE_FORMAT_AC3
Vendor: Dolby Laboratories, Inc
I have all codecs needed installed!! I have also installed the handler to virtualdub.
first I tried to make a wav fil using virtualdub:
No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format.
Then I used Goldwave to make the audio file, and thats fine, now I have a separat audio file.
But when I try to framserv whit virtualdub, I load the vdr file into TMPGEnec, it says it is unsupported or can not open. I have tried the correct the TMPGEnec settings, VFAPI plug ins, but it doesnīt help. I have search this forum but cant find any guides.
Somewhere I read that I need to install the AC3 decompressor into virtualdub, but I dont know how! I have downloaded this AC3 decpompressor, and installede it, but cant choose it in virtualdub?
Under Audio, compression I cant find anywhere to choose the ac3???
Help needend, if you understand my problem. THANKS

I feel for you here - I have a come across a few files that I cannot frameserve from vdub to TMPGenc, but they open fine in TMPGenc. Not figured it out yet so I can only suggest you create a new avi with subs using vdub and load the new avi into TMPGenc.

You tell me to load the movie into virtualdub, add my subbs, and then save new avi??
It still tell me that audio decompressor could not be found. I need help installing the ac3 decompressor into virtualdub.

After you install the ac3 acm decompressor you need to close vdub and open it again. Click audio>full processing mode and then audio>compression. The decompressor should appear in the window. When you tried to frameserve to TMPG did you choose the wav file created by goldwave as the audio to be used in vdub? -

Itīs funny, it dosnt appear under audio, compression! I have tried to install it again, but with same result
No, I didnīt choose the wav file from goldwave when I tried to frameserv...normmaly I add the wav file in TPMG. -
Since you have a seperate audio file you don't need to frameserve the audio. Before starting the frameserver go to Audio and select No Audio, then frameserve. It might work.

Hi.
I saved a new avi file, adding subs with virtualdub. Saved it without any audio, and then started TPMG, added the audio file which I made with goldwave. It turned out well. Now I have an VCD with subs and everything.
Thanks for helping you guys!
