OK thought I would share this with those folks out there having the same problems as me with stuttering/jerky/dropped frame effect/flip book effect XVIDS (this is for those who use FFDSHow.........which should just be about everyone).
As some of you may already know my previous fix was not really a fix at all (play the little beggars thru vlc). The prob with vlc is (at least imo) aspect ratios/zooming... the player just doesn't cut it .....I HATE black bars........I've got a widescreen TV and I'm dam well going to use (even if it means cropping/zooming).
So whats the fix......well first of download the latest xvid codec (v1.00 RC4) and install (remove the previous version first). Next open up FFDShow and on the Codec tab/supported codecs >untick the Xvid box>press OK and quit.
What I did next (I'm not sure this actually did anything or not) was register the new xvid codec in Zoomplayer > Player options >Manual filters> Manual save and quit.
Voila!! No more jerky/stutering xvid playback.
HTH anyone with this problem...monzie
