ok...Now you are taxing my memory here....BUT.....
DVD2AVI has a clip function that would do it. you would have to play with it a little but it will work. You'll have to get it into a DVD2AVI file format first....vob, m2p, m2v, mpv...you can output to any frame size you want. When you see the little clip window come up, the bottom right hand box will say somthing like 4:3 or what ever your frame is, change that to "free" and move the sliders to clip the video.
Select Save and DVD2AVI will encode the video. Once that is done you will have a d2v file and a wav file. If you want it back as single AVI, use TMPGEnc Plus to put those together and output DVD compliant MPEG-2 files....you can also clip the timeline here if you didn't do it in DVD2AVI.....out of TMPGEnc you will get a m2v and another wav file. Which you can use something like Premiere or Virtual Dub (I think) to put those together to a single file or you could take those into TMPGEnc DVD Author and make DVD video.
I think you could also do it adobe premiere with the transform or crop tool. -
AVISource("whatever.avi")
Crop(0,0,0,XXX)
LanczosResize(XXX,XXX)
XXX = lines
XXX,XXX = desired frame size"There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon." -- Raoul Duke
