  1. Hi all,

I have a problem here. I've been trying to back up some of my DVD's using DVDStripper with DVDShrink. The whole process goes fine without errors. but on several discs, while watching the movie, the movie will re-start while switching chapters. If I try to watch it again, it will sometimes restart, sometimes jump to another chapter, and sometimes play through like it should (often with a few pauses as if it is confused as to what to play).

Here is the process I'm using:

    1) Strip with DVDShrink 0.3.0 (IfoEdit 0.97, DVDDecryptor 3.2.1.0)
    2) Remove some trailors, extras, etc. as next step in DVDShrink (process the files with IfoEdit)
    3) Open the output files with DVDShrink 3.1.7.5, remove some audio streams, etc. to further reduce the size to it's final size to fit on one disk.
    4) Burn the disk with DVDShrink

Has anyone else had these problems?

Am I doing something wrong (I don't think so)?

    Is there a better/easier way?

    Please help. It's pretty annoying!

    Thank You for the help!

  3. Looks like your IFO files are messed up. Try a different tool for stripping (I assume for steps 1 and 2 you use DVD Stripper, not DVD Shrink).

  4. Yeah, your right. I am stripping with DVDStripper, not DVDShrink (typo). Anyways, is this a known problem with DVDStripper and IfoEdit? I cannot seem to find anyone else posting this problem. If it is a known problem or if there is a better way / better software to do this with so I can remove the extra content, please let me know!

    Thanks for the reply

  5. What the stripping tools do is replace the stuff you don't want with dummy videos which are about a second long, so they don't touch the DVD structure but they need to update the tables in the IFO files. In your case it seems that this wasn't properly done.

I think the author of DVD Stripper is also a member of this forum so post another topic but put something like "problem with DVD Stripper" in the subject and see if he or someone with more experience with this tool responds.

Meantime try VobBlanker or TitleSet Blanker. There are others (CloneDVD, DVDReMake, InstantCopy...) though not free.
