JVC HRS9911U Few questions / suggestions?

Hello,
I've pretty much decided that I will be purchasing the JVC HRS991U S-VHS model, but I have a few questions, and am open to any suggestions of a different model or anything.

1) This is just a basic question, but I'm curious anyway, will the built-in TBC remove macrovision?

2) My purchase price will be 378.50.. is this a good price, or should I keep searching?

3) Which S-VHS blank tapes should I purchase, does this matter?

4) To connect to my TV, I'm assuming I'll have to utilize the S-Video output. However, my TV does not have an S-Video in: will this matter, am I incorrect?

5) Anything else you think I should know about S-VHS capturing / playback, I'd be more than happy to hear =)

I have a JVC HRS9900U. While I can't speak definitively on #1 and #3, but
#2: I paid $349 at B&H PhotoVideo
#4: The video output comes through RF, Composite and S-Video simultaneously

I use the built in TBC/Stabilizer to help clean up old tapes; some tapes work with TBC on, some with TBC off. I haven't tried to defeat Macrovision. I have another device for that.

I believe that as far as tapes go (and this is only my opinion) the consumer-priced VHS and SVHS tapes are about the same and the pro-priced VHS and SVHS tapes are about the same. So as long as you don't get Memorex tapes, you will probably be ok.

1- Maybe. Sometimes not on harder ones. This is not a normal TBC, but a one based on DNR algorithms.
2- Sounds good. I paid $500+ for my 9800.
3- For true S-VHS, avoid Maxell. Use FUJI and JVC for best quality. For S-VHS-ET, get TDK EHG (not REVUE) tapes. Maybe JVC SX or EX if you can find them.
4- Has coax, comp and s-vid
5- Learn to use all the options. CALIBRATION, REC LEVELS, etc. See my site for some details on JVC features (TBC/VCR page).
