I am looking for a "How to" site on making bootleg movies...some kind of a insiders guide to what kind of camcorder to use,,,the best encoder, etc on pirating the latest movies. Have any suggestions??

Hey, Well I find that the newer Sony models have good cameras for recording inside the darkness of cinemas, fits easily under a decent trenchcoat. Picks up the sound really well.
Hope this helps.

I also recommend trying to pay off the cinema manager so that you dont get caught by some nosy usher. Also go during a weekday during school hours so that the cinema will be less full and you wont have annoying voices in the backgrounds. I use a device i made up at home that is like a tripod bit it folds up nice and small. Good for getting straight picture. It is also not noticable under a trenchcoat so an usher shouldnt be able to pick it up
Also i would recommend making friends with projectionists. I have one guy that actually lets me film from the hole. Gives a great picture and you are closer to the sound
Cybermage and me actually run our own bootlegging group [SiGa]. We are always looking for new members so like i said in my above post give me an email and i will send you the details on how to join.

There is a way jeex and you are right, it is called a telecine machine. Much better quality than a cam.
