  1. I need sugestions on authoring tools

I´ve been using Encore DVD which has great integration with Photoshop and "good enough for me" authoring possibilities. But it´s one of the worst written software i´ve ever used with crashes, random errors and some things that are just plain dumb.

I´ve also tried DVD WS, DVDit and TDA they´re OK but too limited for what I´m doing now.

Which authoring software has (at least) Encore´s power and (relative) easyness of use and isn´t insanely espensive?

PS - I´ve heard (read actually) in this forum about Maestro and Scenarist and also that they are very expensive and hard to use.

Too limited? What's limited? Hard to give suggestions when you don't really say what you want.

thanks for your time to reply to my question , but as a frequent user of this forum that topic had already came to my atention.

What I ask is a specific question and if you had read the topic of your link you´d know that there´s not an answer to my question there.

    But thanks anyway.

  4. Oscar, who writes DVDLab is more or less determined to compete with Maestro in the long run.
DVDLab is growing quickly and I would recommend you test if you didn't already.
The pro version is to offer 8 audio and many sub tracks with command editing too....

as a guide line: "Which authoring software has (at least) Encore´s power and (relative) easyness of use and isn´t insanely espensive?"

    maa

    I´ll give DVDLab a try

  6. As an additional note what I like in Encore is the ability to customize and manually set the looks and navigation of the menus - people who have used it know what I´m talking about.

Encore is miles away from the those I´ve mentioned above (DVD WS, DVDit and TDA) - though nice and effective they don´t give you enough power to make "art" menus and good navigation in complex menus.

  7. It sounds like DVDLab is right for you then ....

  8. I´ve tried DVD-Lab and it´s definitely the authoring software for me.

It´s up to the user to decide what he makes of is menus and what type of video he wants to play - no reencoding.

Interface similar to DVD Maestro but much easier to work with (yet not as powerful).

    Total authoring freedom.
