  1. Ok, I have a Divx of a recent movie and when I play it in my Media Player, it's a little choppy, however, when I play it in my GomPlayer (korean player) it plays fine. I checked for the codecs with avicodec and with that other program, I forgot what it was called, but it has a render button to find out exactly what codecs are being used, and it all checks out ok. Please, if someone knows what codecs I need, or if I have to re-install a different codecs, let me know. Thanks.

Use G-spot to read your file and give you the codec info.

  3. I actually used Gspot and it said that everything was ok and that it would play without problems. I even rendered it and it was fine. Are there newer codecs not yet released or something?

Which 4cc does your movie use?

  5. The 4cc is Xvid. I took a snapshot of what my gspot lists as what I have and what it can do. It says "direct show apparently can also play the file." Is there anything else you need to know? Thanks a lot for your help.

Try installing the latest xvid codec.

  7. Had to find the 2004 codec, and it worked. I got it from a friend, but I don't think it's on all the xvid codec websites yet, because it says Koepi's developer build. Thanks for the help.

You're welcome. Just so you know, the "xvid codec" link in my last post(and this one) would have taken you to the latest Koepi's build. Glad you found it anyway though.
