  1. Lo, firstly thanks for reading ,
after taking ages to sort out buring to svcd i decide to buy a dvd burner and now i`m back to square 1

I`ve got avi`s that i want to burn onto dvd, what do people use to convert ?

I already have nero 6 and TMPG but i`m having problems coding the files into something that nero will take. Assume i need to convert them to VOB and that`s where i`m struggling.

Also would the process be the same for mpg and wmv?

    Any help is much appreciated

    Ta

What kind of AVI's? They come in all flavors, DV, DIVX, etc. Generally I use TMPGEnc encoder. Start out with the wizard and DVD format. Then you have to author them to DVD files. I use TMPGEnc DVD Author to make the files. TDA can also burn them. The process is to convert them to DVD compliant MPG2, with MP2 or AC3 sound is the most common. The conversion is different for the different video file types but end product is more or less the same.

Look up avi to DVD under format conversion of the Guides section over there <-<-<-. Look for one that has TMPGEnc and TMPGEnc DVD Author like redwudz suggested, it's all there step by step.
