I've decided to get an Epson R200 printer so I can start printing on my discs. Therefore, I need to get some new media that I can print on. I'm not sure which media to get. I'm considering Ritek and Memorex. The Ritek that I'm looking at are from rima.com:

    Ritek/RiData DVD-R 4.7GB, 4X, Printable, $0.92 ea., 100-Pack
    4.7GB capacity, G04
    White inkjet printable on top
Writing speed supported: Up to 4X
Excellent compatibility with writers and players
Utilizes superb premium organic dye that ensures stable writing with excellent quality
    Long-term data archiving
    100 pcs/pack

The Memorex that I'm looking at are from amazon.com:

    Memorex 4x DVD+R 4.7GB (100 Pack Spindle)

Any thoughts on which I should buy? Or perhaps neither??

  3. Ridata printables seem to burn pretty well. I have had some issues with full 4.38gb burns. The outside (end) seems a little weak and it gives me playback problems in one of my standalones (picky little bastid). If I keep the burn size to <4.1gb, they are very good.

Printing on the white printable Ridata (G04's) gives kind of a translucent affect. It looks good on most disks and sort of a washed look on others.

Personally, I have "stepped up" to Maxell (MXLRG02's) white printables. I pay about 60 US bucks for a 50 spindle...the extra money is worth the confidence level I have attained with this media. They play in all of my standalones every time (so far).

As usual, your mileage may vary...
