I got this new Ritek +R media in Taiwan which replaced the former RICOHJPNR01 media. It seems that Ritek has finally finished its own DVD+R Disc with its own dye. The main differences between the new RITEK R03 and RICOHJPNR01 are: 1. dye color changed from navy blue to purple dye. 2. The Speed is classified for 8X even it's printed 4X on the disc. 3. The price dropped from $.90/disc to $.79/disc from 100pack. 4. The new disc is now printed in light orange color compared to the clear and white print of the old one.
So far the compatibility seems better than before; according to my experience, my laptop with a QSI DVD drive sometimes has trouble reading RICOHJPNR01 disc. However, since I don't have 8X writer I can't try the new disc with 8X speed.
