  1. Hi Moderators

Did I dream it? Or WAS there an article (or a sticky) on this forum a few months ago that now seems to have vanished (I tried Search)? It got several very complimentary replies too. Or am I totally confused...?

Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Help would be appreciated.

  2. 24/96 audio has been available for quite some time in different flavors:

I will display the formats in bits/samplerate/channels

DTS 24/96 - This is a new "strain" of dts and claims to play streams at 24/96/5.1

DVD-Audio - This is another format that plays 24/96/5.1 and 24/192/2

SACD - Sony's own version of DVD-Audio..you know how Sony can't just bow down and always has to make it's own proprietary stuff..hence the gumstick memory...

You will need a receiver that can handle DTS to play the DTS cd's..although dts 24/96 will be sampled down to "regular" dts 20/48?
DVD-Audio and SACD require special players although you can pick a pioneer up that plays both formats for about 150.
