  1. Optorite wrote to me and said the firmware update to make the DD0401 an 8X-R, will be posted in a few days.

    Currently, the DD0401 is 8X+R and only 8X-R.

    Hope they post the procedure to flash it too.

    I hope they release it for the generic OEM drives too!
    Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

    noticed they havent up dated the F/W for the 203
    as I'm getting the problems with Nero InfoTool that are fixed on the 201 but not the 203

    OOpps my previous post I got the 201's & 203's the wrong way round edit'd it to make sense now.

    Their numbering system sucks the 203 was 1st then followed by the 201 !!! followd by the 401 - not logical is it!

    BTW has any brave idiot flashed a 203 with 401 FW -- I wonder what would happen

  8. No disc in tray. Download the 150E.zip file from their site. Unzip, rest of instructions are there. I did this last night but don't have any media to test the 8X-R with yet.
