Problems with Pinnacle Studio 8.4

Hi, I'm new to the whole editing thing. What I'm trying to do is edit movies I record from my digital 8 camcorder and send them back to blank tapes.

I recently got Pinnacle studio 8.4 and it works great for what I want to do. Well, it works great if it would just do what its suppose to do. I have 2 problems with it.

1) It won't make the 6 minute movie I'm working on. It won't send to tape or avi. What happens is that it starts to work and then it gets hung up on a scene and won't go any farther. One example of this was a short 1 second clip I had slowed down to 1/10th of the real speed. So I cut that out and then put in a still. Then it worked. I thought it was the slow-mo but it gets stalled at regular scenes too. Theres no rhyme or reason that I can see.

2) The second problem I have is that when I add music to a sceen and edit the leagth of the sceens. The music completely disapears never to return untill I close the program down. The odd thing about this is that it did work originally but then all of a sudden stopped.

Can anyone help me with this? I really think pinnacle studio 8 is great, or can be great if it would only do what its suppose to.

Your using ver 8.4?
Use thier upgrade patch to ver. 8.10.4c
