  1. Can someone tell me what the best software to make video clips is - a quick tutorial or link to one would be great as well.

What I want to do is this. Cut and edit parts of cartoons, movies etc and add an mp3 or wav to it. How easy is this and how long does it take?
    Thanks

  2. Pls provide some more info about the hardware you already have. Are you going to capture from VHS, TV (meaning analog capture)? Do you have any capture card/device?

Most capture cards/device come with software, and most of the time, this will be enough for your needs.

Cut, paste, add ext audio are some of the basics in NLE. All these can be done. It's not too difficult, but depending on your hardware, it could be time consuming.

    my 2cents.

  3. Hey thanks for that.
What I have at the moment are some cartoons in both avi and mpeg format. I'm guessing all I need are a few programmes which can do the editing etc, is that corect?

    I have a Pentium 3, 450 Mhz, 64mb RAM.
    Thanks again.

  4. ...since you didn't mention anything about capture card, I'm assuming you don't have one.

I believe VirtualDub has some 'basic' editing capabilities. I'm not so sure, as I haven't used the software that much. You can download this (its free) from the TOOLS section on the left. And while you're at it, check and see if there are any other editing softwares in there.

    hope this helps.

  5. Thanks,

    You're right, I don't have a capture card.
I already have this software but am not overly familiar on how to best use it.
Do you know where I could find a good tutorial to assist me?

    Thanks Again.

  6. I use MGI Videowave 4 to do this job to my great content. Within half hour you understand all features. It is just so easy. Furthermore, it has a built in encoder to vcd or even extend vcd and MPEG2, which you can reencode with TMPG to Super VCD. It works great for me. Trial versions available at http://www.mgisoft.com. If you want I can send you a tutorial of MGI Videowave.
