I have tried ripping to hard drive with both DVD DeCrypter and DVD Shrink. In both cases I can not get a working menu, I am trying to do a full disc rip and have settings in both programs set properly I think but the menu will not work. It comes up but will not allow me not work when I click on for example, audio set up, etc. Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong? I would really appreciate your help and advice. Thank you so much.

Are you using DVD Decrypter in file mode? I did a backup of Schindler's List with DVD2ONE to one disk using the join function. I also did a direct copy backup of both as full disk with Recode and had no problem.
Sometimes the software player is the source of the menu not working. If you uasing PowerDVD,try WinDVD.

wulf, thank you for the reply. Yes I am backing up in file mode with Decryper. The menu not only doesn't work on my DVD ROM (Pioneer 105) but it also does not work in my standalone either. ????? I've not used DVD2One, only Nero and CloneDVD. How do you like the quality of DVD2One, maybe I need try that if you think the quality is eqaul to the others mentioned above. Thank you for your help.
    Thank You,

Personally I think DVD2ONE produces the best quality of all the commpression programs, especially for long movies like Schindler's List.

First let me thank everyone sincerely for your replies and help, you guys have been tremendous. I think I found the problem, Norton. With Norton disabled I have now backed up 2 DVD9s with no problem, thank goodness. Again I really do appreciate everyone taking time to help me on this.
    Thank You,
