My PC has a Sony DRU-500a burner and I rarely have problems burning DVD-R's. Lately, I bought a batch of Memorex DVD-R 4x's and have ended up getting a lot of coasters. Tried switching burner software and that didn't help.
Tried to burn them on my laptop DVD burner but didn't work there either. My laptop has a 2x burner though so maybe that's the problem there (I thought a 2x burner would just burn a 4x disc at 2x?).
Anybody else had a problem with the Memorex 4x's?

  2. If you go to the media section, you'll find that a lot of people have Memorex DVD-R burning problems. It's not so much the Discs as it is your DVD burner (compatibility that is). I think your burner is one of several common burners that has problems with these DVD-R's.
If everything is infinite then nothing is definite.

  3. I have a similar burner. Mine is a sony dru 510a.
I've always had problems with memorex disks. I just don't think sony burners and memorex get along.

check out this thread if you want to read about my experience with memorex.
