Problems burning to DVD-R

Hey,

I was wandering if anyone can help me figure, what drug my burners on at the moment.

Ive been using DVD Shrink since i got my 4x burner, and with my burner i received a bunch of DVD+R's. I burnt with these and everything worked fine, the right speed/quality and no coasters.

But i just bought a bulk pack of Princo DVD-R 4x, and for some reason im having problems with them, and not only this brand, also Shintaro DVD-R 4x. When i try to burn with DVD shrink, it always rejects the DVD. I then tried burning them in Nero, and it also failed. I retried the burn at 2.4x, but said that it can only write at 2x. It then burnt and turned out fine.

I was just wandering if anyone knew what was wrong? Media problem? Or firmware?

Sounds like it is probably media....

It is well worth chekcing what brand your drive's manufacturer recommends.

Often worth checking in the media section to the left.

well worth trying a few different medias, and dont just go for cheap ones....
