  1. First of all, Hi to everyone in here.

I have been reading the forums and have learned a little bit.
It's a lovely place and especially for dvd.

I have bought recently a dvd-writer Nec ND 4500A and want to ask this.

I have a VIDEO_TS folder IN IT are:
    *VIDEO_TS.IFO - 6 kB
    *VIDEO_TS.BUF - 6 kB
    *VTS_01_0.IFO - 86 kB
    *VTS_01_0.BUF - 86 kB
    *VTS_01_1.VOB - 1.048.574 kB
    *VTS_01_2.VOB - 1.048.574 kB
    *VTS_01_3.VOB - 1.048.574 kB
    *VTS_01_4.VOB - 1.048.574 kB
    *VTS_01_5.VOB - 376.654 kB

Also I have made a AUDIO_TS folder empty.

I have burned the folder with ImgTools (I read in 1 of the topics) and burned it, then I have put it in my standalone dvd sony and it played.
    But....

There was NO MENU or SUBTITLE option.
    There was NO SUBTITLE.

    My question:

1-The reason why there is NO options and extras is that because I am missing files ? How can I solve this ? How does those file look like ?

2-How can I add (for example dutch) subtitles to the dvd ?

I have used a DVD+RW Philips dvd cd.

Thnx for your time helping me and giving me advice.

    Sincerely yours,

    Jeanette 8)

Where did those files come from ?
How do you know there is supposed to be a Menu etc ?
Why don't you play it with WinDVD or PowerDVD and see what it should
    do.
    Adding subtitles is hard

  3. M brother had downloaded those files.
Therefore I wanted to know what those files are, cause normally every dvd movie has a MENU .

I played with my Sony home cinea standalone dvd player and it played the movie but without any subtitle and Menu.

I was just asking If there is a tutorial on these ?

How to add subtitles to dvd.

If a movie is downloaded it is going to be just the movie with one soundtrack more than likely.

You can add your own menus using something like TMPGenc DVD Author before it is burned to a disc.

Dont expect any subtitles , extras , different langages etc that you would get from a commercial DVD.

The only way you can get these things in any sort of easy way is to do a backup of an original DVD , keeping the things you want and removing the things you don't.

Your files look like one movie on a DVD-r that will play the movie when you put it in your player.

If you think you can replicate a commercial DVD with it - Forget It !
