  1. Long ago I made a SVCD with 1150 bitrate because the standard SVCD didn't play on my DVD player and so with 1150 bitrate it worked. My question is, is SVCD or VCD better in quality with 1150 bitrate? And how do you burn a CVD (is it the same as burning a SVCD)?

A VCD at 1150 kbit/s looks much better than a SVCD with the same bitrate. To burn a CVD just burn it as SVCD in Nero and ignore the error message saying its not a compatible file... Or you can remux with VCD header and burn as VCD.

  3. How about the CVD compared to VCD in 1150 bitrate?

Just remember that any time that you increase the resolution and keep the same bitrate, that the perceived quality will go down.

More resolution needs more bitrate (generally).

I know that most folks on these forums hate VCD's, but if done properly with a decent source, you can actually get some pretty good results. That said, I stick mostly to SVCD's. But I've made some pretty good looking VCD's from camcorder material.
