  1. Due to size constraints, I have several 352x288 (PAL 25fps) clips. These were encoded to MPEG2 via TMPEGEnc using the "DVD PAL_4_3_LowResolution (MPEG-2 352x288 25fps VBR 3900kbps)" setting, and the sound is AC3 (via BeSweet).

When I try to author a disk with TMPEGEnc DVD Author, I just get random garbage on screen, yet when I view the encoded m2v in media player classic it plays fine.

Ideas, suggestions. I can redo the encoding I guess, or else I'll downgrade to MPEG1.

  3. Playback was via media player classic (I don't burn unpreviewed stuff unless desparate). As far as I'm aware I've never installed either WinDVD or PowerDVD on this machine.

Garbage, is best describes as mostly streaky, like the tracking on a VHS has gone.
