  1. I have a pioneer A05 dvd burner and have been trying to make a backup copy of my new shindlers list movie. The movie plays fine, both sides. but when I went to rip it to my harddrive with dvd shrink and dvd decrypter it gave a cant read error in the same place on both tries using both methods. Is there something about this movie that refuses to let me back it up? What else can I do, its new, no marks on it like scratches or whatever to explain the cant read errors no matter how many times it tries to read it?
    All ideas are welcome. Thanks

Bad disk. Take it back and exchange at the store (your allowed) for the same title.

  3. If you haven't already, try ripping it in your Burner, these can sometimes be more tolerant.

If it was an "overlapping i/o" type error message in DVDShrink, try ripping with DVDecrypter in "Brute Force" decryption mode then shrink with DVDShrink. I had this problem and it worked for me.

  5. I also get the same error. I'm using CloneDVD with AnyDVD running in the background. It gets to 54% then stops every time. This is a dual sided disk and I've never tried to backup one of these disks before. So it is possible ?

  6. I've had that happen a couple times on a few dual layer discs I have. Each time I just ripped in file mode and had no problems. ISO and IFO mode both froze up around 54%. If you haven't already, try File mode and see what happens.
