  1. I have this old HP 722c. excellent printer and still gives newer models a run for their money. the carriage drive belt is fraying and about to snap and I'm not having any luck finding parts. anyone know of a site that may carry what I need?

Try http://www.nationalparts.com and htpp://www.vancebaldwin.com and http://www.computeranimal.com . There are a couple more, but I can't remember there url, and don't have a bookmark for them at work.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

Honestly these days most printers are throw away designs, not really worth repairing. Is there something special about this one I dont understand?

  6. its been one of the best photo printers I've ever seen. I get quality results out of it rivaling most newer printers I've seen except for the higher end models. I'd got an Epson R300 on order, but I just wanted to get this one working and use it for text and possibly some photo work to help extend the life of the R300. If there is no easy way to fix it though then it's not worth it. I can buy one new on ebay for $30 or less now, but I really don't need it. Just wanted to fix it if it wasn't to much problem. evidently it is though.

  7. I agree. I have an HP 722C. Bought it new in 98 from Costco. I have been through 3 scanners, 2 monitors, a half a dozen mice and keyboards but this has been my ownly printer. Its a workhorse despite being slower than some. It prints outstanding photo quality prints long before it was common to do so. I hope you can find the part you need.
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.
