What program can I use, with guide if possible, to move parts of the sub on top without moving all of the sub on top.

  2. Do you mean you want to move some lines to the top? If so, then:

Or do you mean something else? If so, then please explain more clearly. And what are these subs for? DVD? Some other format?

Is there one that can edit it in a .ass subtitle format because for some reason my comp won't open the ssa program properly.

  4. I asked what this is for. Is it for DVD? If so, the fellow in the other thread, the one to which I linked, used DVDSubEdit after making the DVD to edit a few of the BMPs so that they appeared at the top. As he said, it's pretty easy to do.

Just trying to mux it to a avi after I edit the .ass subtitle file.

    It's not a VOB file or idx/sub.

  6. Oh, OK then. SSA and ASS are the 2 main subtitle formats that allow for positioning the subs in different locations on the screen. I've only ever worked with SSA using SubStation Alpha. Perhaps others will see your thread and have some other suggestions.

Alright, the program I use is Subtitle Processor so that's the only one I know how to do it with because I havn't explored the other ones.

Okay, at the bottom there is a section called Editor functions; go to the advance section.
And you have to play with the numbers depending on the length of the subs and where you want it.

The "left margin" makes it appear to the right and "right margin" makes it appear on the left.
The "vertical margin" makes it appear at the top.

    Sorry for the late response.
